Startup of a new non-profit theater arts company in Webster, TX. Consulted on business plan, budget, facility, insurance, licensing, advertising, course schedule, and all other aspects of business. Built a website to publicize the business and share calendar and photos. Startup summer season 2007, implemented three children’s shows and five arts classes. PROJECT MANAGER, LEGACY DECOMMISSIONING

Promotion to reporting level. Responsible for decommissioning all Legacy applications after SAP implementation and Y2K remediation projects. Leveraging my knowledge of the business community and experience in IT legacy systems, assumed a role to understand and deliver on the data retention requirements of the business community. The role included frequent interaction with the highest levels of the organization to obtain their support and approval. Major responsibilities included work process design, specifications, documentation, formal approval gates, project control, staff management, contractor hiring, data warehousing, and hardware retirement. Continued with the project through completion. Retired more than $3MM of hardware and about 600 applications, warehoused hundreds of databases to UNIX format.
MANAGER, COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Promotion to position. Manage 36 employees, including Team Leads, Client Field Representatives, and four Help Desk Support personnel, as well as 15 contractors. Responsibilities include maintenance and small enhancements for all of UCC’s 700 legacy computer applications on mainframe, midrange, and desktop platforms. Designed and implemented tools and work processes to control the workflow. Managed the group through the implementation of SAP which replaced most of the applications.
TEAM LEAD, COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Maintenance, small enhancement projects, and client support for UCC Legacy Systems residing on Midrange Computers. (VAX, AS/400, Sequent/Unix, Wang, etc.) Project management for the group. Client Service Desk support for many applications. Major migration projects from former locations/formats to new systems in Houston. Promoted to Team Lead of the group in 1995, managing 6 analysts in two locations.
STAFF ENGINEER Polyethylene Research and Development Bound Brook, NJ 1993-1994
Project design and development for the Accelerated Product Development Project, including LIMS (Laboratory), PI (SQC/Historian), and consolidated database software. Responsibility included specification development, software, configuration, purchasing, hardware, network, and work process design for four national R&D locations. On-going application and user support for the project. Continued user and application support for other Polyethylene Department applications.
STAFF ENGINEER Polyethylene Department Bound Brook, NJ 1991-1993
PI and Pathworks Network System Manager, and Project Engineering duties in a polyethylene manufacturing facility. Responsible for computerizing an old manufacturing facility, including the implementation of desktop and control room PC’s, a 40 PC Pathworks network, and all related training, software, and software development. Duties included the purchase and installation of a DEC Midrange computer, Modicon PLC’s, and SQC/Historian control systems software (PI). Equipment projects for a polyethylene compounding unit included heavy equipment repairs and upgrades, control systems and control room upgrades, and a new computer room. Developed and implemented training packages specific to department needs, providing the training myself and with a local training vendor. Implemented a site-wide training needs assessment project with Digital Equipment Corp. Developed automated terminal emulator solutions for users eliminating most IBM dumb terminals in the department. Project leader for Logistics Excellence implementation (multi-plant). Continued recruiting responsibilities. Technical skills in DOS, Pathworks, Windows, VMS System Manager, VMS, DCL, and PI System.
RECRUITING SPECIALIST Corporate Human Resources Department Danbury, CT 1989-1991
Recruiting of professional candidates from national colleges. Recognition Award received for breaking a 13 year recruiting record (37 hires). Refurbished a 100M sq. ft warehouse as a summer project, including extensive EPA cleanup requirements.
MAINTENANCE ENGINEER Maintenance Department Bound Brook, NJ 1987-1989
Promotion to position. Provided technical assistance and project engineering skills to six production units. Served 7 months as Temporary Maintenance Department Head responsible for 100 people and total plant maintenance. Recognition Award received for successful installation of a $500M polyethylene mixer. Implemented a spare parts program. Operational Safety Coordinator. As Environmental Coordinator, managed the response to two Safety and Environmental audits, improving the assessment from a '4' rating to a '2.' Additional projects included installation of an MMIS maintenance computer system, a large scale vibration analysis program, and a wage and exempt hiring program.
EQUIPMENT ENGINEER Distribution Department Charleston, WV 1980-1987
Promotion to position. Responsibilities of maintenance and project engineering for a fleet of 3500 chemical tank cars, including an annual capital budget of $3.1MM, regulations compliance, and development. Conducted an annual 4-day maintenance seminar. UCC leader in joint project with Monsanto to develop a new configuration for MMP tank cars leading to a $1.8MM order, a new DOT Tank Car Specification, and a Recognition Award. Developed and implemented a corporate wide computerized tank car loading and compliance program (RailSafe). Worked closely with DuPont to develop a nationwide HCl operational safety program, new loading configurations, emergency response kits and procedures, and valving designs. Company representative to the Association of American Railroads. Coordinated nationwide network of mechanical inspectors. Developed strong skills in Destructive and Non-Destructive Testing. Volunteered 6 years as a Junior Achievement counselor.
SITE ENGINEER/SHIFT SUPERVISOR Distribution Department Nitro, WV 1978-1980
Responsibilities included engineering and maintenance, small projects, HSE compliance, as well as shift supervisor relief for a small tank car / tank truck distribution facility. Major projects included ground water piping, pump replacements, design and purchase of tank trailers and van box chassis.
