PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
· Opened a Children’s Theater in Webster, TX. With one partner, developed a business plan, website, marketed, sourced, constructed, and operated a theater. Business is successful now and since 2006. I continue to support it as a volunteer and consultant.
· Designed a corporate Data Retention Project to retain data from more than 600 worldwide commercial applications across 7 platforms following implementation of SAP. Project completion in 2000 reduced annual overhead by $3MM. Staff of about 50.
· Managed worldwide technical support of commercial applications for Union Carbide with a staff of over 100.
· Designed and implemented a Laboratory Management system networking source instruments to databases and research tools across platforms and four nationwide locations. (Uncommon in 1993!)
· Designed engineering controls for tank car transport of extremely hazardous materials through comprehensive research and communication with manufacturing companies that resulted in enhanced transportation safety and reliability. As a member of the Association of American Railroads, initiated negotiation efforts with DuPont, Dow, Rohm and Haas, and Monsanto that led to increased transportation safety nationwide. (Capping kits, Emergency Response)
· Conceptualized and developed a new tank car design that resulted in a new DOT tank car classification with improved material unloading and safety characteristics, which led to a joint railcar order with Monsanto. These railcars are now standard across the industry.
· Developed and implemented a corporate-wide computerized tank car loading and compliance program (Rail Safe), by combination of material and tank car construction characteristics and safe loading procedures. 25 years later, this program is still in use at several Dow Chemical Company sites, migrated across several platforms.
· Developed and delivered a nationwide annual railcar maintenance training and inspection program workshop six years running.
· Managed Audit Response for two Safety and Environmental audits at the Bound Brook Plant site that significantly improved safety audit ratings within one year.
· Surpassed every existing recruiting record for full time hiring from college campuses as a Corporate Recruiter. Won several awards.
